Racket Sports started as a retail shop (within Spennymoor Sports) selling high quality Badminton, Squash, Racquetball and Tennis rackets and accessories, as well as sports clothing and foot wear.We are now only operating on line.

The Lifetime Achievement Award 2018

The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by another former Mayor, Lee Vasey, went to a 78-year-old who has dedicated 46 years of his life to coaching  badminton.

Peter Walton, head coach of Dolphin Premier Badminton Club, was honoured for guiding countless young badminton players during an illustrious career.

Peter said: “It’s hard to find someone to take over, so as long as I’ve got arms and legs, I’ll just carry on because I just love the sport.”

 

A UKCC Level 3 Badminton Professional at Wearside Health & Racquet Club, University of Sunderland Head Coach, former PL4S Coach, former International Umpire, Head Coach with several Local Authorities, a former Durham Junior Squad coach, Educational Sports Programme Development Coach,Farringdon Badminton Academy Head Coach,Dolphin Premier Head Coach,Coached at Carter High, South Africa, and a promoter for several local tournaments.
